Family, community, and scholarship, amalgamated with the determination to be impactful, are the drivers of the change needed in this moment that energize Janice Guider’s passion.
A Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®), coupled with certification as an epidemiologist as an adjunct to her Master's in Public Health degree, Ms. Guider’s proficiency is in public health and the study of social behaviors that impact health (social epidemiology). Driven to create opportunities for optimal health and academic outcomes for vulnerable populations, she earned a certification as a Public Policy Analyst from the London School of Economics and Policy, recognizing the role that policy plays in shaping outcomes.
Guider currently serves on the Unity Partnership Board. Additionally, she serves on the Sierra Club/River Prairie Group Board, is an Illinois Birth to Five Action Member, and is a member of the Advocate Good Samaritan Community Health Council. She previously served on the DuPage County Health Department Board, on the Board of Directors for FORWARD DUPAGE, and on a Kane County Health Department Equity Committee.
Guider’s role as President of the Equity in Health Advisor Network (EHAN) positions the organization to have a voice across several Illinois counties in numerous organizations, ensuring representation by informed voices with lived experience.
